District Level Gram Sabha Federation Capacity Building Workshop on behalf of Vidarbha Nature Conservation Society on 27th January 2024 at Mauja Tembha Chak Ta. Armori Dist. Gadchiroli. “Gram Sabha Federation is a movement for social transformation and it will continue continuously,” asserted Dilip Gode in this workshop.
He also said that the Gram Sabhas need to come together to stop the financial exploitation of the Gram Sabhas who have receivedcollective forest rights by the private traders in the process of selling forest produce, and for that there is a great need for a Gram Federation. He also appealed to the Gram Sabhas to give priority to the protection and growth of the forest by planning village development and to secure the forests for the future generation. Dilip Gode said on this occasion that the Vidarbha level Gram Sabha Federation has been formed to lead the Gram Sabha Federation of 6 districts of Vidarbha and through this federation it will help to solve the problems of Gram Sabhas.
Senior Conservator of Forests Amit Kalaskar, who was present as a guide to the workshop, gave guidance on natural resource regeneration and management, mainly bamboo conservation and management, technical planting, harvesting process, market demand, bamboo production and income.
On this occasion Dilip Gode, Executive Director, Amit Kalaskar Deputy Chief Conservator of Forests, Pandhari Thakur, President Group of Gram Sabha, Dhanraj Khewale Secretary, Umaji Lajurkar Member, Umesh Sahare, Project Officer, Dilip Navghare, Purushottam Kirange, Project Coordinator, Priyanka Thavkar Regional functionaries of Vidarbha Nature Conservation Society as well as office bearers of 22 Gram Sabha Federations of Armori and Gadchiroli Talukas and bare foot technicians and Gram Rozgar Sevak were present.
