VNCS is also involved with research studies in active collaboration with state and national level bodies. Some of the recent work has been as under,
- Maharashtra Forestry Project under the sponsorship of World Bank on the study of “Insect Fauna of Pench Tiger Reserve with special reference to the occurrence of threatened species”.
- Status report on the Ecological assessment of Nawegaon National Park & Tadoba Tiger Reserve with the financial help of World Wide-Fund for Nature- India, New Delhi and the traditional Practice of the communities in the biodiversity Conservation of Pench Area with the help of CEE-Pune under Darwin Initiative Project.
- Ministry of Environment and Forests Government of India has appointed VNCS as the nodal agency for preparing Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan(BSAP) for Central India Eco-region (Bastar and Vidarbha) involving community members, administrators and public representatives through massive consultations. VNCS has prepared BSAP for this region and submitted it to the Government of India. VNCS is also involved in preparation of BSAP for the State of Maharashtra and Chattisgarh.
